About LibTaste
LibTaste helps Steam players understand their taste in games and discover what to play next. Instead of asking you to assign every game a number, it learns from quick head-to-head choices between games in your library.
Why compare games in pairs?
Numbered ratings can look precise, but they are difficult to use consistently. What makes one game a 7 rather than an 8? Does a rating from months ago still mean the same thing today?
Comparing two games asks a simpler question: which one would you rather play? You can also call it a draw or skip a comparison when you do not have a clear preference. Over time, these choices form a personal ranking of your Steam library without requiring you to invent and maintain your own scoring system.
How recommendations work
Your personal ranking provides evidence about the kinds of games you value. LibTaste combines that evidence with anonymous patterns from similar players and relationships between games to suggest games that are not already in your current or historical Steam library.
Recommendations are intended as useful leads, not objective verdicts. Their availability depends on the amount and variety of personal and community evidence LibTaste has to work with.
A small independent project
LibTaste is a fun solo project, built and operated independently by one person. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve.
The project exists to explore a more natural way of ranking games and to make discovering something genuinely suited to your taste a little easier.
Your data
LibTaste does not sell personal data, run advertising, or use analytics tracking. Personal data is used to provide, secure, and maintain the service and the features you choose to use.
The Privacy Policy explains what data is processed, how long it is retained, and the choices available to you.
